Mr Ato Afful is a brand and media strategist, with international business leadership and entrepreneurial-level management experience, having managed organisations of international repute. In his management career, he has handled extensive senior management roles in pan-Africa advertising, brand management, broadcast television, and digital media.
Among the top positions he occupied before joining Graphic, he was the Managing Director of Ogilvy Africa, comprising a network of 46 partner offices and served as a board member, Ogilvy Africa, and Ogilvy Public Relations South Africa, Cape Town and Johannesburg.
He was also the Regional Director, Sponsored Assets & Promotions at Glo, responsible for Ghana, Benin and Nigeria as well as international communications, operating from Johannesburg, South Africa.
Ato has also been the Managing Director, TXT Ghana and Infoboxx Media Group (Global), Ghana; the Amsterdam Film School and EM Studios, The Netherlands and Belgium.
He has rich experience in broadcast media, having been the Director, Marketing & Brand Management, TV3 Network Limited, Ghana (Media Prima Berhad), where he oversaw the Sales, Brand Marketing, Content Development & Management, Programming and Public Relations units.
Additionally, he was the Chief Operating Officer of MultiTV in the MultiMedia Group, where he restructured and rebranded the channel for the launch of Joy News.
Ato Afful started his career as a management trainee at MMRS Ogilvy (now Ogilvy & Scanad Ghana) and rose to become the Media Director.
He is passionate about people development, particularly employing mentoring and coaching as key tools in building coherent teams.
